It is the first time in the seminary that the novena was opened for other people, especially those who were former seminarians in SACFH.

The nine day novena began on the 23rd of August 2015 and ended in the 31st of July. During the whole 9-day novena former seminarians from different batches, together, with some of the Redemptorist Associates, as well as other church groups in the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Cebu sponsored the novena masses. It was also the first time in the seminary that the novena was opened to other people, rather than in the community alone.

On the feast of St. Alphonsus, the SACFH community had their procession of the  image of St. Alphonsus from the SACFH building up to the main altar of the church.

The Pontifical Mass for the feast of St. Alphonsus was celebrated by, Most Rev. Ireneo Amantillo, C.Ss.R, D.D., Bishop-Emeritus of Tandag and who is also a product of the institution.

And in line with the celebration of the feast of St. Alphonsus, the SACFH community, tried again for the third time to revive the tradition of Liguori Lecture.

On August 8, 2015, Dr. Rosario Espina, Ph.D., a former lay reflector of the collegians and now a professor in Philosophy in the graduate school department of the University of San Carlos, Cebu, did the lecture, on the role of philosophy in the social transformation. The event was filled with the presence and active participation of seminarians coming from different religious orders and also those coming from the diocesan seminary of Cebu.

These are the events that have made this first three months of the formation year and the celebration of the golden anniversary of Saint Alphonsus Collegiate Formation House.  As the formation year continues to unfold its way, activities are still planned and laid down to make this year a year of grace and thanksgiving. . .
