High School graduates who apply to become Redemptorists are sent to the Collegiate in Cebu City. They reside at the St. Alphonsus Collegiate Formation House (SACFH) and attend classes at the Rogationist College Seminary-Cebu. The Collegiate is a four year program at the end of which the seminarians graduate with an A.B. in Philosophy.

Professionals who apply to become a Redemptorist begin in the Aspirancy program. This program is designed to aid the candidates to understand better the nature of religious vocation and to grow to a level of human and Christian maturity so that they can make a free personal response to the call to follow Christ in religious missionary life, particularly the Redemptorists.

Those who wish to continue and are ready may then be recommended to proceed to the next stage which is the Novitiate.

At this stage, one is expected, finally, to discern whether one is called to  the Priesthood or the Brotherhood in the Congregation. It is here that the candidate is expected to finally clarify his vocation, not only with regard to the nature of that vocation, but also with regard to the mode of living it out, and of equipping himself for his future life and work in the Congregation. At the end of the Novitiate, which is conducted in Lipa City, Batangas, the candidate takes his temporary vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience, and by that becomes a Redemptorist.

This is the final stage of formation for the newly professed Redemptorists who have decided to become priests or brothers. This is a five year program: the first two years is spent in the study of theology, then follows a one year of pastoral immersion, and finally two more years in theology. This program is based in Davao at the St. Alphonsus’ Theologate and Mission Institute (SATMI). The one year immersion is done with any of the Redemptorist Communities in Asia-Oceania.
